Water Conservation plans (MWELO)
MWELO ( Model Water efficient landscape ordinance ) is a statewide water efficiency law for new and renovated landscapes in California.
It sets allowable limits on high water use plants and irrigation system design and incentivizes a low water consumption mandates for all commercial and residential projects over 1500 square ft.
This often leads to the use of drip and low gallonage spray irrigation designs, water conserving plant selections, smaller turf areas and various types of groundcover mulching.
